When my husband and I decided that I would stay home to raise our three children it came with the challenge of living on only one income. This meant getting creative and finding ways to save on as much as possible in our everyday lives. I have shouldered this responsibility through 3 kids, many moves, an ever changing income, and now a “sluggish” economy.
Growing up with many examples of living a smart frugal life has given me the foundation to find ways to contribute to our household even if it is not a paycheck. Since we moved to Lynchburg 5 years ago I could not find a website to help me find the local deals. I also found that my friends were becoming more and more interested in how I was able to save so much money on our groceries and household goods and they knew I somehow found great bargains and wanted to know how.
With the combination of a need for a website dedicated to something important to me, my husband’s encouragement, and trying to keep up with my friend’s constant curiosity I decided to create this site. Through my passion for savings and a realistic view and understanding that everyone’s circumstances are vastly different I believe that this site can and will be beneficial to this community. This is a fantastic resource for the casual saver all the way to the “extreme” couponer. My hope is to help others save money, to fulfill a need, and to inspire and encourage others out there to find a way to contribute even if it is not an income.
