When you get a rebate for a specific product the store will ocasionally print out an additional receipt with all the rebate instructions and details but this is not the case all of the time. If you are purchasing items with the intention of using a rebate then make sure you either ask the cashier to print you out a copy of the receipt or do a separate transaction so that you only have to send in the receipt containing those specific items.  This will prevent issues such as needing the receipt for other items you may need to return or choosing the separate transaction will prevent having to send a long receipt with the other form you filled out.

It is so easy to become absorbed into the chaos of Christmas morning but now there is some down time in our household after the Christmas story has been read and the presents have been unwrapped and the mess has been cleaned up.  As we recover and eat breakfast I wanted to take this time to wish all of you a Merry Christmas.  This has been such a great year and I am so excited about what next year will bring for us (just wait for New Years Day ).  I hope that you are enjoying your morning with those you love and have a wonderful afternoon filled with food, fun, and family

Last night we were listening to a commercial on the radio when we were on our way to the store. The man in the commercial made a statement to the effect of “you don’t need a coupon to save a lot of money…”. Well my 8 yr. old took great offense to this and said…”that’s not true coupons can save you a lot of money, they just need to go shopping with you mom”.  I smiled   

When I talk to people about couponing, a lot of times people make the comment that they forget them or they don’t have time, etc.  Here is what I suggest…Change your mind set about how you view coupons.  Instead of a stack of coupons, look at it like a stack of money.  Why wouldn’t you want to have your “money” with you or why wouldn’t you want to use your money towards your groceries?…

Usually this is just a reminder about printing any coupons you might want because on the 1st they will reset.  When they reset tomorrow some coupons will become available to print again in case you printed the max,  but other coupons will be removed.  So print any coupons that you may use in the next 60 days today from the coupon sites listed here.   But that is not the only end of the month reminder I have…make sure to use your fuel points at Kroger.  They do not roll over and expire at the end of the month so if you don’t use them, they are gone.  This happened to me last month.  I lost 98 point   I have just posted about the new Kroger Fuel rewards options which makes it even more important to use your points.

You know you are a couponer when…you find it attractive that your hubby is cutting out coupons (without being asked) and even says “man these are some great deals”   (Just to let you know, he got some extra kisses)

Today’s Tip is to be patient with your hubby because he may not drink the couponer “kool aid” right away but when they start seeing the savings, then hopefully like mine, they become more involved and even do some couponing themselves   If you are not currently married or dating then get your girlfriends involved.  Having a friend coupon with you, not only helps but also makes it more fun.

You know you are a couponer when…you load coupons onto your shopper’s card while you are waiting for the vet to come in.
Which brings me to today’s tip.  This morning when I was just sitting there waiting, I was able to take advantage of the time and loaded some of the new Kroger coupons available this week.  Even if you don’t have a smart phone to load coupons, you can still clip coupons while you are watching tv or use some of your “free” time to tackle those coupon inserts you may have put off.  I don’t want couponing to be an overwhelming task so just do a little at a time, whenever you get a chance
